AK Seeds is part of of the ACMHS Transition Age Youth Continuum of Services. It’s mission is two-fold: To engage, empower and employ at-risk youth and to provide locally grown crops in Anchorage. AK Seeds will decrease our reliance on imported food by offering fresh produce year-round and assist youth in developing vocational skills and experience that will assist them in the transition to adulthood.
Who We Are: AK Seeds is a dual mission project and is AK Seeds is a hydroponic growing operation providing fresh produce year round to the Anchorage Community. We are also an Employment and Behavioral health program for youth ages 17-26.
Our Produce: AK Seeds utilizes innovative Hydroponic growing technology to grow herbs, leafy green vegetables, strawberries and other crops. We grow indoors utilizing LED lights and vertical towers.
Our Program: Seeds of Change engages at-risk youth in personal growth and skill building through vocational and behavioral health services. The youth are engaged at all levels of the business and will develop life skills, leadership skills and graduate the program ready to be an asset to any employer as well as becoming independent and successful adults.
